Friday Favorites

What a week. Why does that always happen after a long weekend? I was convinced that it was Friday all day yesterday. I've also needed my fair share of naps this week... my mom woke up for EMS duty at 4am on Tuesday, and when she opened the garage Nestlie started to bark and woke us all up. Since then, my body has decided that 4am is the appropriate time to wake up... so that's unfortunate. I'm hoping for a little R&R on a lounge chair in the sun if the weather cooperates at all this weekend. That's not too much to ask, right? For now, here's this week's Friday Favorites!

1. Aquis Hair Towel

I don't think I've ever shared this product before except during my bridesmaid gift reveal, which is super surprising because I have a true obsession with this hair towel (hence why I gifted it to all six of my bridesmaids). My mom gave it to me a few years ago and it truly changed my hair routine. I blow-dry my hair pretty much every time I wash it, and this cut my blow-drying time in half because it absorbs so much more water than the average hair towel. I used mine for several years and then Les put a new pink one in my stocking this year for Christmas! I notice the difference immediately when I travel and forget to pack it.

2. Headband Holder

If you have the same passion for headbands that I do, then you'll need a way to store them. Right now while we're staying in Maine I have them all sitting around the base of a lamp on the dresser I'm using. But at home, I use two of these acrylic holders. What's cool is that they also have storage on the inside of them for hair scarves, bows, and other accessories.

3. Prep of Boston

A few times before, I have shared some of my favorite fellow bloggers (although let's be real, they have all been on a MUCH different level than me (LoneStarSouthern.com and MixandMatchMama.com are my favorites). Today, I wanted to share another woman I follow, although she's more active on Instagram. Kate Casaletto, or Prep of Boston, lives in my area, got married at Misselwood too, and just had her first baby boy! Oh my WORD is he precious. If I didn't love following her already, I definitely would now for the baby content. She posts a lot of great and affordable fashion finds on her Instagram stories, as well as some other fun lifestyle tidbits!

4. When We Believed in Mermaids

Something to read! We recently bought my mom a Kindle for her birthday and it came with a three-month free trial for Kindle Unlimited for her, and a one-month trial for me! I downloaded When We Believed in Mermaids by Barbara O'Neal, and I really, really enjoyed it! It takes place primarily in New Zealand, somewhere I have never been. It's a story about two sisters (which I tend to be a sucker for) one of whom was presumed dead, but is potentially spotted on the news by the otherresulting in a whirlwind journey to New Zealand. I loved that it had the hint of mastery that I tend to seek in a book, but it's also just a beautiful novel about family and growth. It has over 6,000 reviews and an average rating of 4.5 stars, so I'm not the only one who loved it!

5. Knives Out

And something to watch! Knives Out stars Daniel Craig and is reminiscent of the board-game (and movie) Clue. I didn't need to know anything else before we decided to watch! A patriarch supposedly committed suicide, but Daniel Craig is hired (he's not sure by whom) to investigate the possibility of a murder. There are several motives within the eccentric family, which includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, and Toni Collette. And, Daniel Craig speaks with a southern drawl akin to Kevin Spacey in House of Cards. Again... need I say more?
