Friday Favorites

We made it to Friday— the second one in June. I can't believe it! This weekend is slightly bittersweet because Sunday would have been my bridal shower, and I would love nothing more than to be surrounded by all my favorite women right now. At least the weather is looking really nice for the weekend, so we may be able to do some sailing up here in Maine! And, Les and I enjoyed a really nice date night yesterday evening. We went to our very first drive-in movie to see 1917!

I introduced Les to poke for dinner, which we picked up on our way to the drive-in (and which he loved), and it was so fun snuggling up in the truck to watch the movie. It was also a really incredible film in so many ways. So that's a definite favorite for this week! On to the rest.

1. Workout top from Amazon

Earlier this week I texted my friend Hannah and I asked why, as women, are we always so tempted to buy a handful of new bikinis every year when, realistically, we always reach for our favorite one and wear it all summer? The same usually goes for me and workout wear I have those few favorite outfits. But, as I've been running almost daily now I found myself in need of some new gear. I ordered a few new sports bras, tops, and leggings from Marshalls and TJ Maxx, but my favorite thing I found was this less-than-$25 top from Amazon. Things I love about it: it's a little longer than other crops I've tried; it's higher-necked; and it comes with a built-in bra and removable padding. So far I only bought this one in white, but now that I know I love it I'm also going to buy it in black and maybe deep sea! Though I opted for the built-in bra for this one, you can also get it without and just wear a sports bra underneath. For reference, I'm a 34C, 5'4"and bought a Medium!

2. 90 Degree by Reflex Leggings

My other favorite purchase from my workout haul were these 90 Degree by Reflex high-waisted leggings. I had never heard of this brand before but I bought them online from Marshalls for $14.99! I can't find the lavender color anymore but here is the exact pair I bought in black. I couldn't believe how high-quality these were for the price— they're not see-through at all, and after wearing them out on a run I can confidently say that they don't slip-down, either (I hate that in leggings). The exact pair I'm wearing are the "interlink high waist v-back capris," but this brand has a couple of different versions/lengths online at both TJ Maxx and Marshalls. The stock keeps fluctuating in terms of color and sizes, otherwise I would have linked more here. But I definitely recommend this brand, especially for the price!

3. "Birkencrocs"

My mom was in Walmart earlier this week and I texted her to ask if she could look for these shoes....and she delivered! One of my favorite bloggers, Kate from Lonestarsouthern.com, shared these on her Instagram story earlier this week, and I can't remember if she said it was her or her husband that dubbed them "Birkencrocs," but it's so accurate. They're a comfy rubber-like material, less than $8, and they come in a few fun colors (bright pink anyone?!). They're so easy to slip on, especially when I'm taking the dog out, and I've already been wearing them non-stop around the house. They would be so great for the boat or the beach, too! Best $8 I've spent in a while. :)

4. Leather Cord Keeper

Yesterday my mom asked me if I could help her find a "cord keeper" online for her Kindle charger; she saw the brown leather one that came with my laptop case from Amazon. Coincidentally, I had just seen these on Etsy earlier this week and thought they were too beautiful not to share! I love these types of keepers for organizing alllllll of my chargers (iPad, watch, Kindle, laptop, phone...) when I travel. This seller on Etsy, rkitekt, also has a "cord taco" version, and some other beautiful leather accessories!

5. KIND Almond Butter Granola Clusters

One thing I miss the most about being away from home right now are the açaí bowls (and the poke, but we found a place near the drive-in to satisfy that craving!). There is a place in town where my coworkers and I get açaí bowls with the BEST granola and a dollop of almond butter for lunch. All summer long it's what we eat. Although I haven't found any açaí bowl offerings nearby in Maine, I have made my own little substitution with Two Good Greek yogurt (vanilla or berry) and this KIND granola that I recently discovered: almond butter whole grain clusters! Though it's definitely not an açaí bowl (it's missing the key ingredient of açaí...), it's been my favorite breakfast for the past few weeks. Love a good granola find!

Enjoy your weekends, everyone.
