Friday Favorites

It has been a HOT MINUTE since I've published a Friday Favorites. Well actually a month, to be exact! I mentioned in my posts earlier this week that I took a little vacation from the blog while we went on a lake trip, and before that work had been crazy busy! But, on Monday and Tuesday I shared how we celebrated what would have been our wedding date and weekend, and how special our friends and family made us feel! And today I've got a few more things to share that made us feel so LOVED.

But first, check out my two posts from earlier in the week and see what sort of surprises were in store for us.

Ok, on to today's Friday favorites and a few more things that brought the magic back to our September.

1. GIANT Fortune Cookie

I have all the feels about this cookie. First of all... it's a cookie which is my favorite food group. Second of all, it's the biggest fortune cookie I've ever seen. And third, it had the SWEETEST personalized fortune inside from Les's parents:

Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own... wishing you happiness these next 361 days!

This was waiting for us when we got back from the lake last week and it made our day. I've never seen anything like it before! It amazes me the things that those close to us can come up with. Feeling all the love from our family!

2. Wine Surprise

Also delivered the day we got home were six (well twelve, actually.. we'll get to that) bottles of wine from Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard sent to us from Les's sisters. Our wine rack has never been so full! This was such a perfect gift since we've been cooking at home a ton and enjoying cocktail hour out on our patio a lot recently. Les's oldest sister, Emily, has a really close friend who works at the vineyard in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. So to our surprise (and his sisters' surprise for that matter) we actually received TWELVE bottles of wine instead of the six they ordered... I'm thinking Emily's friend doubled the order for us. How incredible is that? What's very cool is they're currently offering $1 shipping from their online shop if you order 6 bottles or more...such a great gift idea especially during quarantine, or really for yourself just to stock up! Thank you to my two beautiful bridesmaids for this. :)

3. An Illustrated Gift

Remember how I said my friend Melody who took photos for us at our wedding venue was a woman of many talents? Well it turns out that illustrations are another one. During the more intense months of quarantine she decided to spend some of her time working on drawings for some of her friends, and she gifted this one to Les and I based on one of our engagement photos. Isn't that amazing?! It was one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received. And the details are spot on... like the flowers on my dress! I'm planning to hang this in my office. Speaking of hanging it, how cool is the frame I found at Target? Once it's hung on the wall it will have a sort of floating effect because the glass pane is set a few inches in front of the black rod on the back. I thought it would be such a great way to display this one-of-a-kind, super sentimental piece!

4. Rifle Paper Co. Puzzles

If you've been reading my blog for a little while, you know that I absolutely love all things Rifle Paper Co. Their beautiful products featured HEAVILY in the gifts that I gave to my bridesmaids when I asked them to be part of our wedding. I love all of their stationary and am so excited whenever they come out with a new product that displays their designs. One of their newest items—and a phenomenal little gift during this season of staying home—are these 500 piece jigsaw puzzles! Right now they come in four different prints, and I am definitely putting one or two of them on my Christmas list. When we were staying with my parents in Maine for a few months my mom and I did a ton of puzzling, and I'm sure I'll be back at it this winter!

5. "Hey There Pumpkin" Welcome Mat

Last but not least, the first taste of fall. Les and I wandered into Lowes last weekend because he was in search of some additional lights and decor for his Halloween display (scroll to the bottom of this post to see last year's). We weren't that impressed with their selection this year, but I did grab this adorable welcome mat for only $12! The stock is listed as low online so here's a similar one on Etsy, but I would check your local store, too. Who doesn't love a little seasonal decor?

That's all for this week. I'm hoping I'll have some fun fall clothes to share next week as long as my weekend doesn't get away from me! :)
