Hi, friend! I'm so exited that you stopped by. I am a passionate follower of a few blogs, myself, and my favorite posts are usually ones where I get to know the blogger a little better on a personal level, so I thought it would dive in a bit here for my first post.
Here it goes!
My name is Lisa, I'm 25 years old, and I live on the North Shore of Massachusetts with my fiancé, Les, and our five-year-old dachshund-chihuahua mix named Nestlie.
I grew up in a small town called Darien, CT, which is about an hour outside of NYC, in a big ol' brick house with a huge front lawn. Our town was right on the Long Island Sound, and thus began my love affair with the ocean.
If you had asked me at even 16 years old where I thought I would go to college, I would have said Fairfield University because it was 20 minutes from my house, and I was a homebody to a fault (I'm talking stage-five-clinger to my Mom). But, some forces greater than myself made me choose Northeastern University, and I made the move to Boston in 2011. This turned out to be the best decision of my life, because this is where I met my boyfriend-of-seven-and-a-half years-turned-fiancé, Les-- and my whole world fell into place.
After graduating from Northeastern, I took a job as a Communications Assistant at Boston University where I pursued my master's degree, while Les was simultaneously enrolled in his full-time master's program at Boston College (we were trying to hit all the Boston-area schools). Then, after six years in Boston, we moved up to the North Shore for both of our jobs... and we couldn't be happier. This is the first home we made together, on our own, and this is where we got engaged! Stay tuned for the journey ahead...
