I thought it would be fun to showcase our wedding photographer today because in exactly TWO WEEKS we'll be taking engagement pictures with her in Boston!! I can't wait. Les and I have never had professional pictures taken so these will be really special for us-- especially since well be taking them in the city where we met and fell in love.
Choosing our photographer (much like choosing our venue) was another really easy decision for Les and I, and I feel really lucky for that. You may have figured this out from my post two weeks ago revealing our wedding venue, but our photographer's name is Kelly Dillon. The way we chose Kelly was really simple: the Misselwood Instagram account posted a photo she had taken of another couple's wedding, and I fell IN LOVE with her style. I instantly started following @kellydillonphotography on Instagram, too, and scoured all of her photos. She has shot Misselwood weddings several times before and I love, love, love the way she captures the whole setting.
Kelly is a natural light photographer, and every single one of her photos that I've looked at has me swooning over how bright and airy they are. After falling in love with her style, I had high hopes for our initial phone call to tell her about Les and I as a couple and our vision for our wedding, as well as to learn more about Kelly as a photographer. She did not disappoint!
Even though our wedding is still a year and a half away (looking at you, September 2020!), Kelly had already looked up what time the "golden hour" sunset would be on our wedding day, and she walked us through what the entire day would look like, starting with getting ready in the morning to our reception at night. Kelly almost functions as a wedding coordinator, too, because she's a seasoned pro and knows how much time is needed to capture the portraits and shots that we care about most.
This photo right here may have been what sealed the deal for me. I love everything about it-- the couple's natural pose, the setting, the DOG! It was taken in my favorite room inside of Misselwood-- the ocean room-- that I mentioned in my venue reveal post. This is a must-have shot for me, of course featuring Nestlie. She's a bit smaller, but we'll get down to her level.
I'm sure every bride hopes for this, but my wish is that we'll be relaxed on our wedding day and fully able to enjoy the weekend with our family and friends. We don't really plan to have any activities like a photobooth, or even that long of a ceremony. We really just want to revel in having all of our favorite people in one place, at one time, to celebrate how lucky we are to have found each other. And I'm SO happy that Kelly will be the one capturing all of it. Stay tuned for engagement photos!!!
