Well, it's official. Save the Dates were mailed out yesterday, and there's no going back! I'm so excited to share this post after taking a bit of a blogging vacation these past few weeks. Since I last posted, my sister and her HUSBAND Tom had the most incredible and romantic wedding; they went on their honeymoon to Paris, the Loire Valley, and London; I came down with a bad cold; got a wisdom tooth pulled; and had been working until 9pm most nights to get a program I run at work off the ground. But, hopefully now that things are slowing down a little bit I'll be back on here more regularly.
Choosing our Save the Dates was actually a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. I think the biggest challenge was that we loved so many of the engagement photos that Kelly Dillon took for us, and it was incredibly difficult to choose just one to set the tone and theme for our wedding. In particular, we struggled (when I say "we" I really mean "I" because Les pretty much liked every version I showed him) with deciding between one of the black and white photos vs photos in color. I LOVE the timeless and classic look of a black and white photo, and actually our two favorite shots from our engagement shoot are in black and white. But at the same time, some of the photos our photographer took have some truly beautiful colors in them, and they kind of pop just a bit more. After months (I started mocking these up right after we got our engagement photos back at the end of May), I kept coming back to one in particular, so we chose our winning design!
While I'm not revealing the final product just yet, I thought it would be fun to share some of the close runner ups! All of these were designed on Minted; I loved the variety of styles Minted offers, and that you can customize your colors. Our invitations will be done through Minted, too. One last thing-- Les requested that I not share our actual wedding date on here to maintain just a bit of privacy (I don't know who he thinks is reading this besides friends and family... but he asks for so little), so instead I've mocked these up with the date we met. I hope you like these, and hopefully you'll see why it was so hard to choose!
