This past Saturday night, my sister Kelly and I went to see Boston Ballet's The Nutcracker! It was my second time seeing it and Kelly's first. I was SO excited for her to experience the magic of the Opera House and the show itself. We had a delicious dinner beforehand and then drove into the city, making it to our seats just as the lights dimmed.
In a perfect world, I was going to take some adorable pictures outside in the snow wearing my faux fur coat and festive beret, but by this past Saturday night all of the snow had melted and it was about 55° outside. As non-Christmas as the weather felt, it actually worked in my favor because this coat truly is just for show; it's hardly the warmest piece I own, but it ended up being the perfect layer for this balmy Saturday night. Just thought I should add that caveat in case you, as I did, knew you had to have it as soon as you saw it!
Of course I paired it with my kate spade Baby It's Cold Outside bag that I pull out for about two months every year— a Christmas gift to myself three years ago I think. I also brought along a bright red headband—knowing I might end up with a little bit of hat hair— to replace my beret one we got inside. Either of these two hair accessories would make the perfect stocking stuffer for the festive fashion-lover in your life!
We had the best time and I honestly can't recommend The Nutcracker enough. Pro tip: I bought our tickets on Cyber Monday when the ballet was running a special! Next year I'm going to try to convince Les to tag along. :)
