Bell bottoms are back! You heard it here first. Just kidding; I'm definitely not the trend-setter or even trend-spotter on that one. Brands like Show Me Your Mu Mu and Free People have declared them back for a while now. I was finally brave enough to give them a go with this pair from Vici (sold out now, but they have an almost identical pair in stock) and I actually first wore these back on Thanksgiving with a different (more fun) black top.
But for this week's work outfit, I went with my go-to black bodysuit from Abercrombie & Fitch (buy one get one 50% off right now!), and my favorite black pointy toe heels from Tory Burch. I don't actually wear heels to work too often, but these pants demand them because otherwise they'd be severely dragging on the ground. Everything about this outfit is surprisingly comfortable, and as trendy as bell bottoms might be, kind of classic when you add in the black herringbone.
The last detail I have to point out is my beloved Henri Bendel backpack. You can read more about when I bought it here (in my SECOND EVER What I'm Wearing Weekly), but basically I panicked when I heard that Bendel's was going out of business. My impulse buy paid off though because it's one of my most-loved and most-used pieces, especially in the fall. It just goes to show you: always trust your shopping instincts... even when they're pointing to a seventies-style pant. :)
