Thank goodness for a long weekend! Anybody else really need a few days to be unplugged from work? Even though it was another weekend at home (or my parent's home, rather), the extra day off gave me some much-needed relaxation.
We watched golf, I worked out, made a strawberry rhubarb crumble, we gardened, and I worked on some blog posts. And, we enjoyed some absolutely beautiful weather.
I bought this dress online from Express a few weeks ago and it's now 50% off and fully stocked!(Edit** it keeps coming in and out of stock... but J. Crew makes a very similar dress!) As easy as maxi dresses are, and as put together as they make me feel, I do have to admit that I was also feeling severely under-accessorized in this particular instance.
Unfortunately, packing lightly for Maine over two months ago meant that I don't have my killer kate spade red & black fan earrings with me (they're very old and I couldn't even find a picture online, but these could also work). Nor did I have a cute bamboo or straw bag to— at the very least— pose with (because who are we kidding, I wasn't going anywhere). But, you know what I do have?
1. A cute bow detail in the back, and 2. incredibly long quarantine hair. Admittedly, I had been growing my hair out for the wedding, but I think I would have at least gotten a tiny trim by now to clean up the dead ends before the big day. This is the longest my hair has been... I think ever. Definitely since high school, at least. And while I probably do need a little trim at some point, and maybe some highlights, there's nothing to do for now but embrace the long, long locks.
