Few things make me as happy as an easy maxi dress. This was my outfit on Monday night while I got to play hostess for two of our best friends (and members of our wedding party) Connor and Hannah. Les and I had them over for dinner outside on our patio and it was SO good to see them after months of video chat. Our dinner was my favorite dip (I need to share the recipe at some point when I remember to take photos before devouring it) and a huge charcuterie board, but I made two so that each couple could munch from their own— charcuterie in the age of COVID!
Anyways, I am loving this striped cotton maxi from Nordstrom. It's one of those pieces you can throw on and feel completely put together in. I added a skinny braided belt (super old, here's a similar one) for a little more shape, but I actually really like the silhouette un-belted, too.
I just had on flip flips since we were staying in, but how cute would my Steve Madden platform sandals look if we had been going out? Pair it with a neutral canvas bag and you're good to go! Speaking of bags, really fun fact about this Tory Burch tote that I didn't know until after I bought it: the front circular logo is actually a pocket! It's the perfect place to slip your phone so that it's easily accessible. The color I have is past-season, but I love this year's version, too, and it features the same pocket! I love its sort of casual equestrian style.
A little friends, food, and fashion on a Monday night. What could be a better way to start the week?!
