Good morning everyone! Before we get to this week's What I'm Wearing Weekly... some exciting news! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public today at 9:30am EST. If you've had your eye on something from the sale, now's your chance! Here's my full try-on of what I bought, loved, and returned. Happy shopping! Ok on to today's post.
All fall and winter, I miss wearing white (though I do try to sneak it in whenever I can, even in colder temps). So when summer hits, I'm in white more than I'm not. I got this little white denim dress from J. Crew last year, and there's an almost identical version back again this season! The only difference is the new one has cute buttons on the back of the neck. And, it's 25% off right now with code 3DAYS!
But, as much as I love this little dress the real star here— and what I really want to talk about— is my bag. Les bought me this convertible backpack from Mark and Graham as a gift a few years ago when I finished graduate school and I use it all the time: for every day when I'm going to the office, out shopping, and I even used it as my carry-on when we went to Europe a few summers ago. It fits my laptop, a book, and anything else I would need! Plus, it has two pockets on the inside— one zippered and one open— and then another zippered pocket on the outside that was pretty perfect for my passport. I actually think this could be a great gift for the teacher in your life because it would fit a notebook or papers, too.
So the very cool thing about this bag is you can wear it as an actual backpack with both straps, but then you can also use it as a shoulder bag by pulling the strap through the other side (hence why it's called a convertible backpack). It's just one of those easy, practical and beautiful pieces that works with any outfit. It comes in black, too, with the same cognac colored straps. I love the two tone look!
This is how I carry it most of the time; just slung over one shoulder using one of the backpack straps. But guys, I'm telling you— the leather is even prettier in person, and it's that soft buttery leather, too. I have a feeling this will be a bag I'll use for the next ten years and it will continue to just get better as it ages.
Ok so the last detail I wanted to point out, and one of my favorites, is that it has a subtle gold monogram on the top of the bag. Les had what my new initials will be when we're married put on it (although this was a few years ago) because he knew I'd have this bag forever, which was very, very sweet, and apropos to what I shared on Monday! They didn't quite show up in the picture, but you can see a better preview on the website. It's just an extra special touch and makes me smile whenever I use this bag, especially as I count down the days until I'm finally LRK!!
