And just like that we're in full-on fall—there's a chill in the air and a PSL in my hand! Actually in this case, and more often than not, it's a vanilla latte, but you get the picture. Last Saturday Les and I were committed to getting some pumpkins and decorating our place for Halloween. I'll share some pictures on Friday Favorites this week, but it's kind of a funny mix between some nice harvest decor and "spooky season." So stay tuned for that later this week!
Before we went to pick pumpkins, we stopped by a bakery in a neighboring town that we'd been meaning to try: Honeycomb in Hamilton. We grabbed some coffee and breakfast sandwiches and headed to a nearby park to enjoy our breakfast!
The park actually borders a hunt club and we learned that it's open to the public to roam the grounds, so we took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL day and went for a little walk through the fields. I had been wearing my favorite new suede boots (which happen to be on sale!), but luckily I threw some rain boots in the car that I switched into for our walk. My rain boots are older Barbour brand that I actually bought second-hand, but I found a really similar pair on Amazon! They're low in stock right now, but it says there's more on the way.
All of the other pieces of this ensemble are older, too, except for my cozy new turtleneck dress from Lulus! I bought the Dark Olive color, but it looks more like a grey to me. To be fair, though, I've actually always struggled with dark greys and greens and purples... I'll never forget the time we were all supposed to wear purple to school during my senior year of high school. I showed up proudly in my dark "purple" dress, only to face some of my friends asking me how I could forget to wear purple! Apparently my dress was actually a dark grey.
So, who knows what color this sweater dress really is. It's low in stock in the "green" regardless, but fully stocked in black. I'm in a size Small and, while I wouldn't wear this length to work, I'm happy with it on my 5'4"frame for a day out with Les or my girlfriends!
My vest is several years old from Old Navy but this one from Amazon is nearly identical and less than $30! I've always found that the herringbone pattern goes with nearly everything. It gets the most wear out of any other vest I own during the fall!
Lastly, my crossbody bag from Tory Burch is one of my favorites. It was a gift from Les's parents and it's the perfect size for my phone, some cash, and a few cards. It's also the perfect way to stay hands free while I walk the dog and sip my coffee! Mine is from a few seasons ago, but the bag that's available now is super similar.
All in all, this past weekend turned out to be one of those perfect fall weekends. Beautiful weather, a walk, and pumpkins with Les on Saturday, and an afternoon at a brewery (and more beautiful weather) with my girlfriends on Sunday. More weekends like this, please!
