What I'm Wearing Weekly: a LBD & LBR

Dress: Nordstrom Rack | Bag: Tory Burch (past season, similar here) | Sandals: Tory Burch

While my work-wear has been skewing more toward the loungewear family as of late, I'll be back in my office a few days a week in less than a month. This called for a new go-to work dress! Maybe it's because black is a universally flattering color, but I've found that the dresses I can always count on for a work event, or even just a normal day at the office, tend to be black.

This dress is from the brand Tash & Sophie, it's just under $30, and it also comes in a really pretty chambray color. It's sleeveless, making it perfect for warmer weather, and it has a wrap and ribbon-tie detail in the front. And, on my 5'4'" frame it's the perfect length, hitting just above my knees. This one will be a staple in my work wardrobe for the next few summers!

Ok, so we've all heard of the "little black dress," or LBD. But what about the "little black romper"?! I love this little ruffled number I got from Loft. If the first dress was for work, then this one is for play.

Romper: Loft | Headband: sold out, similar here | Bag: Etsy | Sandals: Tory Burch

I'm calling it a romper but I guess technically it's more of a skort situation. It looks like a dress with a ruffled bottom from both the front and back, but there are black shorts underneath! Living and working by the water means there tends to always be an ocean breeze, so rompers like this come in handy. Plus, it's 40% off right now with code "Summer."

This one is also a wrap-front style with a ribbon-tie. Personally I hope the wrap dress—which has become such a classic—never goes out of style. As for the bag and shoes, you've likely seen them around here before. I wear my Tory Burch Miller sandals EVERYWHERE, and I wrote more about my burlap bag on Monday's post. Although I'll be sad to leave Maine, I'll be happy to get back to my closet where I have just a few more accessories to change things up!
